Travel blogger Aushiro, posted a funny blog on TravelPod this week about his trip to Cordoba. The post, titled “Rush Hour 4”, is about how he, an Asian, and his travel partner, a Nigerian-English man, were able to walk around the streets of Cordoba posing as Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker from the Rush Hour movies. Although it’s hard to believe that anyone would buy into this, Aushiro insists that the stares were worthy enough of the good-hearted lie.
He admitted that the lie actually worked until he broke character and started laughing. Also, the fact that they stayed in a Hostel really pushed it over the top. Though Cordoba is diverse in many ways, apparently the Asian/Black duo was out of place enough to draw the curious attention of locals in museums, restaurants, bars, and shops.
