If you want to come to Argentina, but don’t know anything about it yet, this section’s for you. We cover all your trip planning basics here such as: where the heck is it, what are the health and safety concerns, is it expensive, and how does my mom call me when I’m there.

Argentina is the southernmost country in South America, and with a population of about 40 million, it is also its 3rd largest country. Argentines speak Spanish (with a very distinctive accent), and their demographics and culture are largely of European descent.

Argentina has the highest GDP per-capita in South America, and as such is a well developed and stable country. And as a bonus, the devaluation of the Argentine peso in 2001 made Argentina a very affordable destination for foreigners, and it continues this way today.
