In celebration of European Heritage Day, on Sunday, September 21st, the French Embassy is allowing visitors into its stately building to enjoy and learn about its architecture and past. According to My Buenos Aires Travel Guide, the French Embassy, or Palace Ortiz Basualdo, was built in 1912 by French architect Paul Parter. Visitors will get to see the main entrance and the honor staircase as well as the reception halls in the first floor. On the second floor, visitors will see the main dining room, the music room in a Louis XV style, the ballroom and its mirrors, as well as the XVI century English style winter garden. The tour will explain to visitors how French architecture influenced architecture in Argentina. The hours are from noon to 6pm and entrance is free to the pubic.
